What worlds await!?

Filed under: Uncategorized — bethelighthouse @ 1:37 am

I ponder, as I prepare for yet another Solstice….

Discovered, after all of my counting of my days of Bound Lotus, that, I was all of 13 days off! LOL Quite the surprise, to have passed Day 800 and not even to have known it! Not that it really matters, but it is cool to know!

Speaking of knowing, still no idea what to call the sequel to Be the Lighthouse….

The new job goes well, still contracting, switched locations though, really enjoying that!

And, I just built another website, www.kjunnerstall.com

I hope you’re all doing well!

Touch every heart

Filed under: Uncategorized — bethelighthouse @ 3:27 am

A quote someone sent me today, from Yogi Bhahan:

“Touch every heart, bow your head, bless everybody and you shall be blessed.  The Age of Aquarius is not a learning of a knowledge, it is learning to share.

It’s a time to grow, touch, feel, be, bent.  As far as I am concerned, I think it is an age which uplifts like a forklift age. Uplift everybody or anybody.”

-Yogi Bhajan

I love it!!!!

Around the corner

Filed under: Uncategorized — bethelighthouse @ 4:05 pm

As I tired of the game, a friend sent me this….

“And I never see my old friends face,
For life is a swift and terrible race,
He knows I like him just as well,
As in the days when I rang his bell.
And he rang mine but we were younger then,
And now we are busy, tired men.
Tired of playing a foolish game,
Tired of trying to make a name.
“Tomorrow” I say! “I will call on Jim
Just to show that I’m thinking of him.”
But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes,
And distance between us grows and grows.
Around the corner, yet miles away,
“Here’s a telegram sir,” “Jim died today.”
And that’s what we get and deserve in the end.
Around the corner, a vanished friend.
Remember to always say what you mean.
If you love someone, tell them.
Don’t be afraid to express yourself.
Reach out and tell someone what they mean to you.
Because when you decide that it is the right time it might be too late.
Seize the day. Never have regrets.
And most importantly, stay close to your friends and family, for they have helped make you the person that you are today.”

May your days be many and filled with laughter shared with friends both old and new. May the long time sun ever shine upon you and may all your hopes and dreams come true!

Sat Nam,

Steve

A New Hope

Filed under: Uncategorized — bethelighthouse @ 4:35 am

Bound Lotus, Day 685… six hundred and eighty five….

I sat up and the entire world was gone… every thing I had ever cared about was gone, the things were still there of course but I was no longer attached to any of them. After all, they were all just things anyway….

It was as if everything had stopped and I was free to roam about the cabin….

What profound insight had I gained, what had I unlearned? Nothing, everything? None of it mattered, for nothing existed but the stillness… that had been the goal all along….

Faith steeled beyond words, hope beyond measure, love and joy beyond description, the keys to it all, to keeping up, to being the lighthouse….

Summer Solstice

Filed under: Uncategorized — bethelighthouse @ 5:48 am

“Humee Hum Brahm Hum” echoed throughout the hills as we danced and sang our troubles away, all became One as we walked with God upon the mountain of Truth.

The hills were alive with the sound of Sat Nam, Ek Ong Kar, and Wahe Guru as we broke with the old and became the light.

Cannot even begin to describe it, all I can do is quote Guru Singh”

“Rise up, rise up sweet family here,
time of the lord and remember it,
love is here, love, love is all you’ll see
if you’re awake then rise up right away
hey hey if you’re awake rise up right away.
The Lord will bless you, in so many ways,
if you will rise up right now and sing his praise.
Rise up, rise up sweet family here,
time of the Lord and remember it,
love is here, love, love is all you’ll see if you’re awake,
rise up right away.
Hey hey, if you’re awake, rise up right away.”

Rise up and be the light, rise up and be the lighthouse.

At first glance it looks like its right down the street from my house, but the is anything but. In fact, it couldn’t possibly be any further away, it’s in Iraq….

With Iraq so in the news these past several years, I leaped at the chance to explore that far off land through Bob Bricker’s eyes as he shared his photographs with me.

One of the most striking things, is how everyone dresses just like we do in America, but that’s where the similarities end.

To even attend the Bahradaran School, students must maintain a ninety percent average. Ninety percent! To live in a land where excellence is the norm, not just a goal achieved by few….

If I live a million years I may never find anything quite like this tiny community half a world away where sixth, seventh and eighth graders speak five languages and create artwork that moves and inspired people of all ages.

Is greatness something we’re born with, can it be taught, or is it the desire to be and do more that kindles the fires within us? Seeing the pictures of Fadel Bato and his daughters Raneen and Marleen with their classmates shows me it’s all of those things and more.

But what is it about this Christian community that gave birth to such excellence? Would that we all had such standards! What if… what if we did, imagine the world we’d create!!!

I may never visit Ankawa, but I feel I’ve been there. If you can dream it you can create it, these very special children are proof of that. Live as they do, continually strive for more and excel in all that you do!

Revelations

Filed under: Uncategorized — bethelighthouse @ 11:44 pm

I stood on the precipice of life, God awaiting my arrival on the other side. “I am the bridge,” I said as I stepped out over the unknown, trusting in the unseen, and I flew with angels.

Scribbles upon the pages of life, footsteps along the path, a journey into the unknown, a journey across the abyss.

God waited on the other side….

I stood on the edge of life, in utter darkness, God but a distant pinpoint of light.

Part of me wanted to die, another part wished only to cry and every fiber of my being screamed, “NOW! TAKE THAT STEP NOW!!!”

I’d chosen this path, I’d specifically asked to be purified in the fires of God’s love, I’d asked to be burned to a golden haze, did I expect it to be easy?

Every thought, worry or desire I’d ever had fell into the abyss as I closed my eyes and took that step. Unto the light I floated, it really was as easy as a choice, a new choice.

What did you choose?

Climb on

Filed under: Uncategorized — bethelighthouse @ 4:25 pm

So long since my last post… so many changes… surrender the only goal. The road twists and turns, climb on, climb on….

“Bound Lotus, Day 583….

Day 600 fast approaceth, every day a milestone of achievement, ever a new summit upon the horizon. Climb on, climb on….

That’s what the path is, a series of ever higher plateaus. Climb on and walk with God. Climb on and free yourself of all Earthly concerns. Climb on and live free, climb on and dream of ever higher plateaus, let go and soar above the all, dance and sing with angels, follow your hearts truest desires and leave light wherever you walk.

May your footsteps be many, your path joyous, climb on… climb on….

Sat Nam.”

Peace and blessings,

Steve

Milestones….

Filed under: Uncategorized — bethelighthouse @ 1:00 am

Bound Lotus, Day 550….

To arise to a new day, surmount yet another milestone on the road to a thousand and to prosper, a blessed day indeed!

To set one’s mind to a task and accomplish it – within days – now that is keeping up! I’m reminded, as I sit here this eve, before again departing for the angel’s playground in yet another vessel named Endeavor – surely a good omen if ever there was one – I’m reminded of a novel I once wrote, titled Against the Odds….

A group of kids that did it, never caring about the odds or worrying about it being impossible, they kept up and they did it….

Scrolling through its pages, memories… of the characters, their adventures, lives, and the times we shared….

Day 550 brought a new job with it, I eagerly await the excitement and prosperity that Day 551, Day 552 and all the rest are sure to bring along with a return to writing….

May your future be filled with love, happiness and prosperity,

Sat Nam.
