Be the Lighthouse

Bound Lotus, Day 423 and I thought I would share a bit of Be the Lighthouse, a good deal of which is my experiences with Bound Lotus, among other things of course! This one’s titled The first 20 days:

Ray Man eh Sat Nam, Ray Man eh Sat Nam.” The sheer profoundness of those words struck me like a thunderbolt, instantly piercing to the utter core of my being. “Ray Man eh,” O my mind, “Sat Nam,” truth is my identity. “Ray Man eh, Sat Nam,” O my mind, truth is my identity! Wahe Guru!

Until I started learning it, I never knew or appreciated the depth of the Ray Man Shabad. I just knew that I liked it. Partly it was cool because Guru Gobind Singh wrote it and he’s my guy, but there was something much more to it. I just didn’t know what….

Surrendered into what some have called Super Pretzel Pose or Torture Pose, there is no escape. The pain will come, but it’s all just in your head. Are you in charge of your mind or is it in charge of you?

The energy flows in an infinite loop, circulating through the body, as you sit bowed before the Infinite.

At first the pain was almost too much to bear, yet I longed for more and kept at it, learning what I needed to stretch out the most before even attempting to get into the posture. Namely everything….

Every day there’s less pain, it’s easier to get out of the posture, and I always look forward to my, “Bound Time,” like it was something a part of me knew I needed….

In the beginning the seconds seemed like hours, now the time flies by as I chant along with the Ray Man Shabad. It even takes away a lot of the pain, it’s not real anyway, the pain or your head.

If this is what the first 20 days have been like, I wonder where the days to come will take me….

It matters not, it’s all a part of my path.

Find yours….”

Peace and blessings,

Steve

You are the pen

Filed under: Uncategorized — bethelighthouse @ 6:21 am

And then one day, everything changed. I was shown a great secret and knew I had to share it with the entire world.

“Thoughts become things,” embodies every yogic teaching I believe. Yoga and meditation still the mind, enabling one to focus their thoughts on that which they seek to create. From that foundation of peace, love and happiness, anything is possible.

Choose and create in that instant, believe and know.

You are the pen, pick it up and create your life.

Love, health, happiness, prosperity in all areas of your life are there just waiting for you to experience them, choose and act. It all begins with focus and yes, yoga definitely helps develop that focus. In my case it was Bound Lotus, find what works for you, do that which brings you joy and create!

Life is to be lived, enjoy it! See the God in all, embrace life and be thankful for everything! Make a list, make dozens of lists of all the things you are thankful for and feel the gratitude as you marvel at how truly amazing each and every one is, from the taste of your favorite drink to the beauty of the sunset or your favorite music or a pet/friend/child/ even that new shirt or the miracle of technology that at this very moment is allowing you to read this, celebrate – everything!

See the God in all, be thankful, keep up and live!!!

Of pens and men….

The pen is in your hand, what will you create? Dream and write it!

What did Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay do differently? They dared to dream and kept up, just like Lindbergh, Lewis & Clark and so many others.

They had a goal so huge, so enormous, something others thought impossible, yet they knew they could do it. Dare to dream and keep up!

I wrote Be the Lighthouse never thinking about where it might lead, just enjoying the process. To see it listed for sale around the world and in other languages, it simply boggles the mind! Wahe Guru!

What are your goals? What do you dream of? The pen is in your hand….

Sat Nam,

Steve

Hello world!

I thought the pen most fitting, as it represents the creative process, and in my case, writing in particular. The page itself is blank, until one picks up the pen and, until creativity flows and words form upon the page….

That’s what Be the Lighthouse and indeed even life itself is all about. Your life is a blank page, the ultimate template, create as you will!

Peace and blessings,
