Falling Spring Falls

Filed under: Uncategorized — bethelighthouse @ 5:08 pm

Off Route 220, 5 miles north of Convington, in southwest Virginia, weโ€™re going to explore the incredible 80 foot Falling Spring Falls, beginning with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66Y-gmf9w50

๐Ÿ™‚

Cosmic, and far and away my favorite place ever ๐Ÿ™‚

So the overlookโ€™s up above the ledge with the waterfall โ€“ the roadโ€™s visible about halfway through.

Weโ€™re even treated to multiple rainbows ๐Ÿ™‚

I love the view at the end ๐Ÿ™‚

Okay, letโ€™s check it out when everythingโ€™s green! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgsZuuxHpIc

Pausing it to read the sign reveals Thomas Jefferson visited the site and that, then, it plunged 200 feet before being adjusted for a mining operation. Interesting.

Oh wow. Check out this view https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tX9wVyz_Jik in another season ๐Ÿ™‚

Hereโ€™s another view https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjCNDSIuoD0 with much less water flowing ๐Ÿ™‚

Last, but not least, wow, check out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6_UWLU_ow4

๐Ÿ™‚

Tune in next time, a new/another state awaits us. Imagine, what wonders await us down the next country road!

Take Me Home, Country Roads

Filed under: Uncategorized — bethelighthouse @ 3:50 pm

Before we leave scenic West Virginia we have to hear John Denverโ€™s version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vrEljMfXYo even if itโ€™s just to share the top 2 comments:

โ€œThis makes me miss West Virginia but I’ve never left Nigeria.โ€ The secondโ€™s a quote: โ€œWe didnโ€™t know we weโ€™re making memories, we weโ€™re just having fun.โ€

~ Winnie the Pooh

๐Ÿ™‚

Itโ€™s also worth hearing the song a third time to see the spectacular views of the New River Gorge Bridge in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JuqIOk4QYg

Look at the waterfall ๐Ÿ™‚

The asylumโ€™s quite the impressive buildingโ€ฆ.

I love the views down through the fog, onto the misty mountains ๐Ÿ™‚

๐Ÿ™‚

Before we move on/continue exploring these United States, I have to mention, I listened to so many versions of John Denverโ€™s ode to the state where mountaineers are always free โ€“ which is the state song now, by the way. Itโ€™s also interesting to note, he was neither from West Virginia, nor did he live there. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Take_Me_Home,_Country_Roads details, โ€œInspiration for the song had come while Nivert and Danoff, who were married, were driving along Clopper Road in nearby Montgomery County, Maryland to a Nivert family reunion in Gaithersburg.[4] According to a radio interview with Nivert, the road is close to Washington, D.C., where Denver often worked. To pass the time en route, Danoff had made up a ballad about the little winding roads they were taking.โ€

That/our/the country road can take us anywhere and everywhere. Right now/up next, itโ€™s taking us on a scenic drive through Virginia! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFiy6cADvrM

Talk about fall colors there at the overlook. Mindblowingly, spectacularly gorgeous to say the least ๐Ÿ™‚

I hereby declare Falling Spring Falls, my favorite place ever ๐Ÿ™‚ Iโ€™m going to stay here for a while ๐Ÿ™‚ (My #1 fanโ€™s been to Virginia, but the falls alone make the trip/video well worth while ๐Ÿ™‚ )

My country roads take me to Idaho and Montana, to Falling Spring Falls, to that old covered bridge, to Bogie and Bacall, to Ruby Keeler, to infinity and beyond. Where do your country roads take you? Wherever they take you, experience joy in everything ๐Ÿ™‚

(I had the best time ever writing this ๐Ÿ™‚ )

Three State Tour

Filed under: Uncategorized — bethelighthouse @ 5:54 pm

Our adventure continues in Minnesota! Every place has something scenic & I am having the best time finding it, particularly in the unexpected places like Idaho ๐Ÿ™‚

We begin with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6Xn3ZkTm-k which shows some incredible waterfalls ๐Ÿ™‚ (Note, I turned the volume off)

I didnโ€™t find much on Wisconsin either, but I did find https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jwwg18Allg which gives us a nice, quick view of the state, including historic Wisconsin, which I enjoyed ๐Ÿ™‚

As Iโ€™ve mentioned before, one of my favorite movie scenes is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIQaPZ318PY from Logan Lucky (2017) ๐Ÿ™‚

Thereโ€™s this cosmic level shift, not only as Sadie sees her daddy but as her mother realizes/sees/discovers how much Sadie loves her father/how close the 2 of them are/what an incredible father he is, and, it very much changes the dynamic between her parents ๐Ÿ™‚

Now, we can go to West Virginia, beginning with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9q2vH8Ms00

That rates a complete wow ๐Ÿ™‚

๐Ÿ™‚

On to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XfMMfgTCUs as we explore some spectacular fall foliage ๐Ÿ™‚

I love how alert and attentive the dog is ๐Ÿ™‚

I believe we saw the mill in the previous video ๐Ÿ™‚

I wonder who thatโ€™s a statue of. (I didnโ€™t see anything identifying either it or the red buildingโ€ฆ.)

Last, but not least, we have https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2DLn6yV3tY

Wow. I enjoyed that ๐Ÿ™‚

Buffalo Roam, Wherever They Want!

Filed under: Uncategorized — bethelighthouse @ 5:59 pm

As the title hints at, up first today, weโ€™re off to Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota to watch the buffalo walk down, along, and across the highway in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUiSsENhxIU

It’s quite scenic, and different ๐Ÿ™‚

Wide open spaces indeed ๐Ÿ™‚

When I say the buffalo roam wherever they want, they do just that in our next state as well, which I didnโ€™t find much on either. Nebraska however is also quite scenic as we see/find out in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fD_iSqmypfg

Wow, look at the period log cabins. We can even ride a stagecoach and herd moooooooooooooooooooooooooooos!

Thereโ€™s a lot of interesting things there, including scores of happy people enthusiastically waving at the drone ๐Ÿ™‚

There of course is more to Nebraska than Johnny Carson, and whatever else you might associate with the state, so, letโ€™s take a road trip & check it out! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWVI1zRsUIY

What’s really stands out, is how it highlights the cosmic level differences between these 2 states and the surrounding ones.

I love the little tunnel ๐Ÿ™‚ and I enjoyed the hike ๐Ÿ™‚

Now that we’ve seen parts of those states, we are headed east. See you then!!

Exploring Scenic Montana

Filed under: Uncategorized — bethelighthouse @ 5:02 pm

When I think of Montana, I always think of The Big Country (1958). Though it was filmed in California, as Jean Simmons says in the film, โ€œItโ€™s a big country,โ€ which makes me think of Montana. That, and the ranch and field scenes very much make think of Montana. Letโ€™s find out what itโ€™s really like there in/with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7GkebUe6XQ

Talk about wow ๐Ÿ™‚ just incredible ๐Ÿ™‚ as we begin with Glacier Mountain National Awesome Place. Just, wow. Itโ€™s like being on the moon. I cannot believe, you would think, at this point, nothing would blow me away like this. I mean, Idaho of all things, and this is like another universe ๐Ÿ™‚ Iโ€™m also keenly aware, wow, just look at the mountains reflected in the smooth glass surface of the left side of the lake. I officially have a new favorite place/best thing ever, and I am all of 3 minutes into this, our first video ๐Ÿ™‚

As I began to say, Iโ€™m also keenly aware that, itโ€™s the space weโ€™re in, mentally, when we experience, anything and everything that determines our experience of it. Talk about being in another universe ๐Ÿ™‚ the music, is perfect ๐Ÿ™‚

Just, wow ๐Ÿ™‚

Rather than go on and on, Iโ€™m going to summarize with, “Gushes, a lot ๐Ÿ™‚ “

๐Ÿ™‚

Talk about having found the bright center of the universe ๐Ÿ™‚

I am just completely blown away ๐Ÿ™‚

What places stand out for you?

Look at the waterfall ๐Ÿ™‚

We are literally hiking through a waterfall ๐Ÿ™‚

Best. Thing. Ever ๐Ÿ™‚

thereโ€™s another one/another part of it ๐Ÿ™‚

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh lol get a drink/let the water spl โ€“ oh โ€“ my โ€“ wordโ€ฆ.

The universe went all out when making Montana ๐Ÿ™‚

Perfection to say the least ๐Ÿ™‚

Squirrel ๐Ÿ™‚

It keeps getting better ๐Ÿ™‚ look at the glacier. Oh. My. Word ๐Ÿ™‚

The music, is perfect ๐Ÿ™‚

Now thatโ€™s a tour bus!

As always, another trail awaits us ๐Ÿ™‚ what wonders lay ahead. Letโ€™s take that next step and find out ๐Ÿ™‚

๐Ÿ™‚

We certainly took that next step ๐Ÿ™‚

Talk about being in absolute awe ๐Ÿ™‚

As large as Montana is, thereโ€™s certainly more to see. Letโ€™s check it out in/with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQo2R8hOUcg

Wow ๐Ÿ™‚ I love the music, and the scenery is simply mind blowing. You know where to find me โ€“ Iโ€™ll be in Montana ๐Ÿ™‚

Each sceneโ€™s even better than the last ๐Ÿ™‚

Cosmic perfection to say the least ๐Ÿ™‚ and then, the next sceneโ€™s even better ๐Ÿ™‚

๐Ÿ™‚

Alright. One more โ€“ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrHlFPRI_0c

๐Ÿ™‚

It showcases different views of the park from the first video, including an incredible view of a tunnel through the side of a mountain ๐Ÿ™‚

Simply magical ๐Ÿ™‚

๐Ÿ™‚

Hereโ€™s to our further, ever more incredible adventures!

Exploring Scenic Idaho

Filed under: Uncategorized — bethelighthouse @ 4:01 pm

Never having been to Idaho, my first thought was, โ€œExploring scenic Idaho, question mark?โ€ Always having associated Idaho with potatoes, and potatoes with Idaho, imagine my cosmic delight as I began exploring the incredible beauty of the state, beginning with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFSLCBuM00E

๐Ÿ™‚

And yes, as the video shows/mentions, Idahoโ€™s home to the Snake River Canyon, forever synonymous with Evel Knievel.

As thatโ€™s a quick, stunning tour, up next weโ€™re going to explore Coeur dโ€™Alene, which as the title to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ykWDF3Xkfo says, is an aerial love story, not to mention a fantastic tour across the seasons ๐Ÿ™‚

Look at the rainbow ๐Ÿ™‚

๐Ÿ™‚

Wow. Just, wow ๐Ÿ™‚

๐Ÿ™‚

Itโ€™s so beautiful there ๐Ÿ™‚

I love that it ends, with soaring above the fog ๐Ÿ™‚

Thereโ€™s a lot more of Idaho to explore, so, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPHSlujbatc is up next ๐Ÿ™‚

Hold/stop the universe. This, is far and away my favorite place, ever ๐Ÿ™‚ yes, I said/wrote that ๐Ÿ™‚ this is not what I was expecting ๐Ÿ™‚ talk about being pleasantly delighted, not to mention cosmically surprised ๐Ÿ™‚

What an incredible sunset ๐Ÿ™‚

Up next, letโ€™s explore Sawtooth National Recreational Area https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dfEMAqqZo0

๐Ÿ™‚

Breathtaking to say the least, and far and away, my absolute most favorite place, ever, ever, ever, as I write this ๐Ÿ™‚ Itโ€™ll change ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did ๐Ÿ™‚

Exploring Washington State, Take II!

Filed under: Uncategorized — bethelighthouse @ 4:59 pm

We hiked in the snow, leaving me wondering, what the rest of the state looks like, so, letโ€™s find out in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhLy5LBj1kU

Itโ€™s labeled part 3, which is fun, and, itโ€™s 4 and a half hours long ๐Ÿ™‚ so, I watched it over the course of multiple days/sittings ๐Ÿ™‚

I love the colors ๐Ÿ™‚

Talk about gorgeous ๐Ÿ™‚

I think I shall summarize and simply say, wow ๐Ÿ™‚

Spectacular to say the least ๐Ÿ™‚

Itโ€™s not only striking, but so different ๐Ÿ™‚ not to mention the colors ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh wow ๐Ÿ™‚

Talk about scenic ๐Ÿ™‚

Itโ€™s quite picturesque to say the least ๐Ÿ™‚

Unbelievableโ€ฆ.

The water very much reminds me of Vancouver โ€“ crystal clear โ€“ which isnโ€™t surprisingโ€ฆ.

Itโ€™s like, being in a postcard ๐Ÿ™‚

Just when you think you have seen it all, people canoeing in street clothes. To/for me, that would take all the fun out of it lol

It’s mind blowing, not only how much of this 3rd rock of the sun is covered in the most pristine of wilderness, but how, nearby much of it is ๐Ÿ™‚ I mean, this is Washington?!?! This, is the Pacific Northwest, not the furthest reaches/end of the world?! It certainly looks like, a deer trail, in the middle of nowhere and I love it ๐Ÿ™‚

Speaking of deer – there’s a doe off to the right, just before the 4 hour mark ๐Ÿ™‚ called that ๐Ÿ™‚

Wow. I really enjoyed that ๐Ÿ™‚

Hereโ€™s to our next spectacular adventure, see you there/then!

Exploring Scenic Washington

Filed under: Uncategorized — bethelighthouse @ 5:34 pm

Up next, letโ€™s go for a hike in the snow on the Blue Lake Trail, in the North Cascades, in Washington State! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YjcAdxTVKY

Originally, this was part of a post I had written some time ago lol I’m adding a few comments as I watching it again now ๐Ÿ™‚

Dress warm, because we are hiking in the snow!

๐Ÿ™‚

As I originally watched it, the second comment was, โ€œBeautiful sound. If you are reading this, don’t forget, someone somewhere is wishing you all the best.โ€ I love the comments on these wonderful videos ๐Ÿ™‚

I love the sounds of the forest, and the snow crunching beneath their/our feet. It really takes you there ๐Ÿ™‚

I didn’t write much about it, but, sometimes you don’t need to ๐Ÿ™‚

I may watch all of it, again ๐Ÿ™‚ I love these instant, virtual trips as we explore this amazing world ๐Ÿ™‚

However much you watch, I hope you enjoy it as much as I am ๐Ÿ™‚

Itโ€™s quite the lengthy hike, so feel free to enjoy as much as you like, and, as always, our next incredible adventure is just/right around the corner here at the lighthouse. See you next time!

Exploring Scenic Oregon, Part II!

Filed under: Uncategorized — bethelighthouse @ 5:12 pm

If you’re wondering why we began with Oregon, it’s the first state my #1 fan named when listing the states she hadn’t been to. That being said, it’s a stunningly gorgeous state, so much so that we’re going to explore more of it, beginning with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2vwFS8ae2I

๐Ÿ™‚ Talk about the best thing ever ๐Ÿ™‚

I love the windswept rocks ๐Ÿ™‚

Cosmic to say the least ๐Ÿ™‚

There of course is more to see, so letโ€™s get to it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZvy2CnVIB4

Can I just say, and insert a bunch of, โ€œOohs,โ€ and, โ€œaaahs.โ€ Lol that and, โ€œOh wow,โ€ pretty much sums it up ๐Ÿ™‚

Weโ€™re even treated to a closer view of the lighthouse from the previous Oregon post along with spectacular views of the interior of the state ๐Ÿ™‚

I love the rocks stacked in the stream ๐Ÿ™‚

Spectacular to say the least ๐Ÿ™‚

I love the contrasting environments ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh wow. Look at the waterfall ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh wow. Look at the towering waterfall ๐Ÿ™‚

The name of the channel says it all – “Destination Paradise.” ๐Ÿ™‚

I enjoyed that, a lot ๐Ÿ™‚

No, I’m Just Gettin’ Warmed Up

Filed under: Uncategorized — bethelighthouse @ 5:58 pm

Caught up, and eager for further adventure, my #1 fan provided me with a list of the states she hasnโ€™t visited. Weโ€™ve been to several, in recent and not so recent videos. Iโ€™ve sorted/grouped the remaining 17 states, beginning with the Pacific Northwest as we traverse the nation, beginning with Oregon.

When I think of Oregon, the iconic courtroom/trial scene in Scent of a Woman (1992) comes to mind. Al Pacinoโ€™s giving both the board/judge and the school an incredible lecture about honor, and how thatโ€™s something Charlie (the Chris Oโ€™Donnell character) possesses in cosmic abundance and about how the schoolโ€™s not worthy of his presence. Charlieโ€™s from Oregon. Itโ€™s an incredible scene, in an incredible film, so much so, that Iโ€™m including it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TuYhfCkRxyE

Talk about go crazy folks ๐Ÿ™‚

I love how the scene ends. Frank tells Charlie, โ€œWeโ€™re leaving,โ€ and they walk out. The funny thing is, I donโ€™t remember the judgement, not that it really matters โ€“ Charlie walks out, head held high ๐Ÿ™‚

Pacinoโ€™s Best Actor Oscar was well deserved to say the least ๐Ÿ™‚

The other thing of that is, you know Charlie gets an ever so much better class of friends ๐Ÿ™‚

That being said, letโ€™s explore the coast of Oregon! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yrm0UCCipU0

๐Ÿ™‚

Oh wow. Look at the lighthouse ๐Ÿ™‚

I love the peekaboo through the rocks ๐Ÿ™‚ and the color of the water ๐Ÿ™‚

From the black, sandy beaches to the sweeping/breathtaking vistas, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did ๐Ÿ™‚
