I love the color of the water, not the mention, the view of hiking through the water 🙂

Exploring Scenic Comet Falls

Filed under: Uncategorized — bethelighthouse @ 9:17 pm

Like the title says, up next we are off to explore Comet Falls, which according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comet_Falls “Comet Falls is a tall waterfall located on Van Trump Creek in Pierce County, Washington. The falls are thought to be the best in the Mount Rainier region.” Now we know so let’s get to it & check out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sl_TFkdTVh4 it certainly is lush. Again, it’s a longer adventure, so, hopefully you brought something to drink & a snack 🙂

It’s quite scenic to say the least, particularly the waterfalls & streams 🙂

The thick fog gives it quite the otherworldly look & feel 🙂

I love the simple, 1 log bridges across the stream 🙂

It’s beautiful 🙂

Exploring Scenic Emerald Lake

Filed under: Uncategorized — bethelighthouse @ 7:53 pm

My #1 fan & I were talking about Victoria Falls the other day, so that’s where our adventure begins today, with the fine folks from Visual Escape https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ql7rnAZBdO0 replete with spectacular waterfalls. The little, pavilion isn’t the right word, it’s even smaller than that, but, keep an eye out for it in the split in the canyon across from the waterfall. It’s the perfect spot to take a break & enjoy a cool drink & or a snack. What did you bring?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victoria_Falls has a lot of interesting information about the falls including, “While it is neither the highest nor the widest waterfall in the world, the Victoria Falls are classified the largest, based on its combined width of 1,708 metres (5,604 ft) and height of 108 metres (354 ft), resulting in the world’s largest sheet of falling water. The Victoria Falls are roughly twice the height of North America’s Niagara Falls and well over twice its width.” Wow!

From there, let’s hike around Emerald Lake, in Yoho National Park, which is in British Columbia. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1j-eO3-aR8

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yoho_National_Park has a lot of great information about the park. It certainly is picturesque! 🙂

Just, look at the color of the water 🙂 magical to say the least 🙂

My #1 fan & I were also discussing Hedy Lamarr, who did in fact make a western – Copper Canyon (1950) – with Ray Miland. It’s only available to purchase on YouTube. I’ve seen it though. It’s different lol I think, that’s the only film of hers I’ve seen….

Hues of Autumn

Filed under: Uncategorized — bethelighthouse @ 6:59 pm

Like the title says, up next we’re going to enjoy some fine fall colors!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4EyniVRBmc is up next! Did you bring a snack? Did you bring a drink? If so, what did you bring? Perhaps some ice tea, a cookie, pretzels, or, maybe a slice of pizza or 2 in a container 🙂 whatever your imaginary snack, or beverage, might be, may you enjoy the wonderful colors, and the fantastic camera angles as much as I am 🙂

I am loving the close up views of the yellow leaves & gazing up at the sky/canopy 🙂

The ultra-chill music & the super serene pace, are perfect 🙂

It’s super subtle – at 38 minutes, we return to whence we began – the fantastic closeup of the leaves – it’s only that clip though/that I noticed lol We return to that same closeup at the end & at least some of the final clips are a repeat of the beginning ~

It’s beautiful, wherever it is 🙂

“Sleep Sound”

Filed under: Uncategorized — bethelighthouse @ 6:49 pm

As mentioned previously, today’s post is a brief one, to allow my #1 fan to enjoy all of our previous adventures 🙂

Up first we have, “Sleep Sound,” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCnz_au_HLA an animated film, written by R.A. Salvatore, the creator of the iconic Drizzt character featured therein. Narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch, it features Drizzt, and his companions from the cosmically popular novels 🙂

Great stuff, it shows how Drizzt (& his panther companion Guenhwyvar) came to Icewind Dale, his meeting Cattie-brie, & his friends Bruenor & Wulfgar 🙂 (Note, Sleep Sound ends at 4 minutes, so, you can stop there)

And, let’s soar with Challenger. Without further ado, here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Glcc7V3Mb38 he is!

There’s Laura, with the wooer & Al at the ready with the glove.

There he is, there he goes! Listen to ‘em cheer 🙂

Listen to the crowd!!!! I love the view from Al’s chest as he lands 🙂

Exploring Scenic Silver Falls State Park

Filed under: Uncategorized — bethelighthouse @ 7:01 pm

Another adventure awaits us in Silver Falls State Park! This adventure’s longer, so, bring an imaginary drink & snack 🙂 Maybe you’ve put ice in your water, or, you’ve brought juice, be it, orange, grapefruit, pineapple, mango, or whatever your favorite beverage might be, and a snack – be it an apple, orange, grapes, or even a fresh baked cinnamon roll in a container, it’s very much a part of the experience, as is this all important next step 🙂

Before hitting play, I invite you to simply/just click on our adventure
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfXuSRnr0Ok and take it all in, and smile 🙂 Feel the endorphins from that smile 🙂 feel how good it feels to smile 🙂 Feel how that feeling expands 🙂

With that smile on your/our faces, let’s explore the park!

Timestamps & locations are in the description 🙂

It’s quite lush, and, as it’s a longer adventure, I have something brief in mind for tomorrow, to allow anyone who watches everything, to catch up 🙂

It’s so beautiful & the waterfalls are amazing 🙂

If I had, a place, with a lobby, or a waiting area, this I’d have videos like this playing on the largest screen possible 🙂 It’s also perfect, for having on & returning to 🙂

The trails, and thus our journey, loop back across themselves, so, we’re treated to numerous fantastic views of the waterfall at the beginning 🙂

If you’re curious, from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver_Falls_State_Park “Silver Falls State Park is a state park in the U.S. state of Oregon, located near Silverton, about 20 miles (32 km) east-southeast of Salem. It is the largest state park in Oregon with an area of more than 9,000 acres (36 km2), and it includes more than 24 miles (39 km) of walking trails, 14 miles (23 km) of horse trails, and a 4-mile (6.4 km) bike path. Its 8.7-mile (14.0 km) Canyon Trail/Trail of Ten Falls runs along the banks of Silver Creek and by ten waterfalls, from which the park received its name. Four of the ten falls have an amphitheater-like surrounding that allows the trail to pass behind the flow of the falls.” Wow. I think, we’ve seen the park, in another video. It’s spectacular to say the least 🙂

As always, enjoy as much as you like!

Let’s Go For A Walk!

Filed under: Uncategorized — bethelighthouse @ 7:29 pm

Like the title says, let’s go for a walk! This one’s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exOPmUUqm-E brief, after our longer adventures. It’s a nice day out, so let’s stretch our legs, enjoy the sunshine & sights & sounds of nature 🙂

It has music, but, when I set the nature sounds to a nice, soft, natural level, I barely heard the music lol

This adventure’s only an hour – the gazebo’s a nice place to stop afterwards 🙂

I enjoyed that & hope you did as well 🙂

Heir to the Empire, Chapter 18

Filed under: Uncategorized — bethelighthouse @ 7:09 pm

I had the best time, on our incredible hike in Washington State, so much so, that, I’m going to spend time in nature – specifically hiking – every day 🙂 Conveniently, that amazing YouTube channel has dozens of spectacular virtual hikes, waiting for us to enjoy!

A major part of this, for me, is, stopping during these hikes, and having something to eat – steamed vegetables particularly. Depending on where we’re hiking, we can imagine having brought a little cook stove, or we heated it up ahead of time & put it in a special container to keep it warm 🙂

Last night, when, I was writing, cosmically enjoying the hike, and, soaring ever higher, I paused, to fix some vegetables. It was quite easy to be there, taking in the incredible scenery, while I enjoyed the best meal ever 🙂 Maybe, we’ll sit beside a magnificent waterfall, or, on a hill, overlooking breathtaking scenery, or just, enjoying whatever beautiful sights we see 🙂

That being said, we are off to Kauai, to explore McBryde Gardens!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWnQHepMat0

It’s like, our own private tour 🙂

The stream at 1:16 is a perfect place to stop 🙂 Did you bring a snack? (A bagel sounds good lol)

I love the idea behind the canoe garden 🙂

I enjoyed that 🙂

As the title says/suggests, Chapter 18 of Heir to the Empire has been released! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Cz-2VrFdZE I remember this, from the books…. 🙂

It’s brief, like Chapter 17, but, I thought they’d make for a nice, change of pace after our hikes 🙂

Heir To The Empire – Chapter 17!

Filed under: Uncategorized — bethelighthouse @ 10:03 pm

On September 14th, 2020, I posted, “Hiking The Sol Duc Falls Nature Trail!!!,” wherein I shared this incredible video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1m27R0tAKM of Olympic National Park, in Washington State 🙂

It’s so lush there, so green, and the music is so perfect 🙂

Their channel’s filled with amazing virtual hikes – you can guess where this is going 🙂

This, is my favorite thing ever 🙂

It’s so surreal, so incredibly beautiful 🙂

Watch your step – the trail’s muddy in places.

This is so awesome – I am so excited about all of these adventures – we are literally going to go hiking all around the world! WOOOOHOOOO!!!!

The magnificent scenery begins to run together, it did for me anyway lol so, like the title says, we have more of Heir to the Empire to enjoy so let’s get to it! Chapter 17 awaits us! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCxOkWvrF2A

Right. I remember this….

That’d be about the safest place in the galaxy for her….

Oh, that’s it. Talk about leaving us hanging. We certainly have a lot of ground to cover, years worth in fact, not to mention 2 & a half books worth of content, and, this, and that, and, yeah 🙂 that was good 🙂
